What is SHOPKEEPER SUNDAY??

Join us THIS SUNDAY APRIL 25th 11-5 and find out!!!

Here at Olde Tyme Marketplace we wanted to figure out a way to be able to get customers to get to us when they couldn't come during regular business hours because of errands, kids in soccer, baseball, you name it, weddings, showers ,grad parties and so on.

We wanted to make it special~ an event to come have fun, relax, have a hot dog, shop for gifts, flowers, junk, antiques! Lots of great people we know have lots of great stuff to sell too, so we asked them to join us.

THAT'S WHAT SHOPKEEPER SUNDAY IS ALL ABOUT!

WE do it ONE SUNDAY a MONTH from APRIL thru OCTOBER!

WHY is it called SHOPKEEPER SUNDAY? Welllll, I am the SHOPKEEPER and I get to pick the Sunday it falls on...usually the third Sunday of the month.

RAIN OR SHINE!!

My LOVE / HATE with GPS!!!

This morning at 7:00 am I hated my GPS....

I mean, throw it out the window , I don't ever care if I see you again

kinda thing....

Then the thrifter in me says "Are you crazy? Remember how much you paid for that thing? You could at least sell it on ebay!"

I was looking forward to my drive home from Maryland today.

I had everything mapped out... the places I was gonna stop, one of which was SHEETZ!

Oh do I love Sheetz...the Pretzel Melt sandwich...I could do a whole post that alone! SHEETZ ROCKS!

ANYWAY......as I was headed home, I came to the road I normally turn down and

I see that GPS wants to take me a different way......decisions decisions....what to do...I wanna go to Sheetz...there's gotta be more than one...I wanna stop at that Antique Mall...yeah but you might find other places you've never seen...SOOOOO I GO ALONG with GPS and find myself SMACK DAB in the middle of WASHINGTON DC TRAFFIC for 2 hours....crawling along like a snail....did I mention for 2 hours! It was unreal and relentless and it didn't help that I kept

saying over and over to myself that I actually did this WILLINGLY! I had nooooooo idea what I was heading towards (insert major UGH!)

At this point I vow to make this awful decision work in my favor....I take out a few of my maps and start looking for places to stop and shop.

I picked out a few and typed the info into the GPS...I gotta admit I was nervous. I couldn't go through a repeat of this morning. After getting things all lined up I arrived at my first place and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot I knew I found a HONEY HOLE!!!! I was so excited....my heart starts racin, I can't look fast enough. I found two things before I even got inside. I would have bought a ton more if I'd had the truck!

The next place ....SAME THING! How lucky is that! Two honey holes in one day!

The thrifter in me saved my GPS~ I apologized for calling it bad names,

I'm in love again and no more talks of pavement or ebay.
Oh, and the BEST PART OF THE DAY?????

I found a Sheetz too! Yum! The pretzel melt was divine!

MARYLAND ROAD TRIP!!

April has been one super stressful month for sure...ugh

I am sooooo looking forward to heading out on a road trip!

Mr.OTM's oldest daughter, ERIN is gettin hitched and this weekend is her

Bachelorette Party...should be a bunch of fun.....

as long as these(see pic below) don't have anything to do with it.....blah!!Let's just say...tried Blue Crabs once and I am okay with never repeating it!

I plan on going to one of my fav stops in Westminster to see what I can see but other than that

it's a girls party weekend. Hopefully I can pull it off....I am probably going to be the oldest one there but I am pretty sure I still have some mojo left in me!

I'll fill ya in when I get back!!

TIME FOR SOME DEPOT BOOTH PICS!

I haven't taken any updated booth pictures of my space inside The Depot since it opened!

Many things have come and gone and I have been busy keeping it filled.

I am up there often but forget my camera most of time.

I am usually running out the door and remember it half way up the road.

Anyway, here are a few pics of some of the goodies I have going on in there.

The place is huge...88,000 Square Feet!

If you get there and your husband says he'll just wait for you in the car...well he could read thru the whole set of Encylopedia Brittanica before you come out!

NOT KIDDING!! It's THAT big!!

The big old wire and glass lantern style cloche HAS BEEN REDUCED! I had it with a set of three iron candle sticks and pillars and someone just wanted the candlesticks so I marked it down!!

The old ironwork trellis SOLD yesterday ! Yippee!

Wire baskets are all time best seller....

One of my new favs is this crown pottery! I have large pots and two pitchers.

They look so old and rustic.

Well , I am off and running for the day! Gotta get to the shop a bit early to clean up. We brought in a big cupboard on Monday night, so alot of stuff was just pushed out of the way.

A FIRST for ME!!

Good Morning bloggies!! I am off to do a Design Consultation today (one of my fav things to do!!) and before I head out I wanted to share with you what I did yesterday FOR THE FIRST TIME!

I have done my fair share of craft shows in my day, set up at numerous antique shows, always putting together a great inventory and worrying about the display.

NOT THIS TIME!!

On the spur of the moment Mr. OTM suggested we get together some of the "crap" we have laying around (mostly mine...go figure!) and set up at a flea market! Wow...I ahve never been a VENDOR at flea market before...hummmmmmm!

Now...I have been a regular flea market SHOPPER since The Waltons were still on tv every week so I knew that it "don't need to be pretty!"

We loaded up the truck with as much as we could. Our table was a slab of wood and two work horses plus another beat up folding metal table, and a rug!

THAT'S IT!!

I had a BLAST!! It took us all of like 15 minutes to set up everything! NO tablecloths on the tables, no fancy schmancy anything!

The best part about being there as a vendor was I could still be a SHOPPER TOO!

I LOVE IT!!

They will be filling the front porch at the shop with all their wonderful plants and flowers for our Spring Open house April 23 &24th!!

OKAY PEEPS!! I know that you have had to be positively glued to your computers

all day in anticipation of the winner of my Pottery Barn Give~Away LOL!!

Before I do the BIG REVEAL ( and no fair scrolling faster to avoid all my blah blah blah)

let me just tell you how we did this one!

First, I bought this way cool roll of old tickets (all numbered) off etsy. Then when you signed up for the give~away I tore off as many tickets as you had coming (wrote down your corresponding #'s on a sheet of paper so I could use the tickets again) and put them in a wood bowl...there was ALOT!

THEN....I was trying to decide how and who was going to pick the winner when I heard

"Hey honey...let's run to Food Lion (grocery store)"

AH-HA!!! That's IT!!! I put on the flip flops and took the bowl of names with me to the grocery store and let the cashier pick the name!

I was so jazzed I thought of this that in all my excitement I didn't even think to take my camera!

After a little explaining about the blog and give~aways and followers and comments and all she reached in......

POTTERY BARN GIVE-AWAY!!!

SURPRISE!!! I was shopping last week (for somthing other than junk) inside a real honest to goodness Mall! I know~ it DOES happen every so often and while I was there I popped into POTTERY BARN and you all came to mind! As I was browsing, I came across this ADORABLE little POCKET TAPE MEASURE...with an important bit of info on the front!

Immediately I thought "Hey! This would make for a perfect give~away!"

Every good seasoned junker knows the value of having a tape measure handy !

Also, in the recent issue of Country Living there is a great article on these , showing how collectible they are!

WENT ON A JUNK HUNT...LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

Not that I don't love a good Easter Egg Hunt...but this weekends JUNK HUNT was even better!

We hit out FIRST yard sale of the season and scored this beauty! It was already painted and so I just came home and hit it with the sander and some stain and she was ready to go!

SOLD!!Here is the haul from Sunday!! I have yet to decide which one is my fav. If I went by price, the old Hoosier would win hands down! The guy didn't want to pack it up and take it home so you know what that means.......CHA-CHING!
I love the color and it still has the sifter inside . It will make a great display.


If I went by the chippiest, this old white Tennessee cupboard would win for sure! Talk about HEAVY...ugh! It has quite a few shelves inside that make it great to store blankets, quilts, towels, etc..



If I were vote for the most awesome original finish..this pink metal cabinet would win the race!

THen, if I were to judge for the fanciest hardware...well the little old washstand stands alone. The color was great, the door is made out of an old crate ~ you can see some of the lettering on the bottom
~ and the hardware was so fancy schmancy on the drawers! Plus it's chippy, crazed, bumpy and lumpy

I had to hog tie a guy to be able to buy the basket on the left! Just kiddin (kind of)! He didn't want to sell it and was getting sick of people asking him how much it was ! Weird right? Why do people put things out that AREN'T FOR SALE??? Anyway he turned into a sweetie and said "here, but don't tell anybody where ya got it from!"

Well I let him loose and ran off!! LOL!

And finally and old drying rack in chippy old white paint. She is missing an arm but heck she's got 7 more so I figured she still had a lot of life left. Plus did I mention she was chippy?

Okay, that's it chicks! I am off to run errands today and work on cleaning some of these finds and doing a few make-overs on the heap of stuff that's in the garage!
