I've had days like this too....
when I feel like my neck has been ripped away from the rest of my body...
okay......maybe not that graphic BUT all of us have been in her shoes right?
We may look a little rough at times BUT we still show POTENTIAL!
That's exactly what I thought about her...PLUS she was CHEAP!
(I hope she didn't hear that)
So what do I do with her now? I want to make her pretty again...rustic pretty ya know?

Should I re~attach her neck to her body? If so what do you think? Paper mache? or just glue or burlap or WHAT?
Should I just re~sew her batting and fabric back on and call it a day?
hopeless !!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteaww I like her! I would have bought her to..I would just try to stitch her up cause I think she is pretty just the way she is:)
ReplyDeletei think I would just leave her as is
ReplyDeleteshe speaks to me just as she is. but in my world the grungier the better and the more distressed or broken I love it even more.

If I were you and "she" was in that tattered condition...I'd have to help her by stitching her up, refilling the filling and recovering...maybe...in an oatmeal colored linen. No 'woman' is always perfect, but like Grandma used to say...the price of beauty is high. :-) Tami
ReplyDeleteI love her just as she is ..
ReplyDeleteI would give her a little lift. Just a touch here and there. She looks tired. But a few little tucks can give her a fresher look. I guess it just depends on what you would like her to look like.. all dolled up or just very worn and tattered. Both are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI would have bought her, too! She's had a rough life...I like her just the way she is!
ReplyDeleteI think she's beautiful, but she probably would be happier having her neck attached to her body (I was trying to get inside her head, but she doesn't have one). My first instinct was glue together, but I don't have much experience in this area, those who sew probably do.

Keep her as she is she has lasted this long. She look great just as you bought her.
ReplyDeleteI love her that way!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in,and for your lovely comments about my blog.
It's nice that you gave her a home.Maybe a nice shawl draped around to cover her imperfections?
Bellaboo :o)
I kinda think her "neck" looks like a hat...maybe if you embellished that and gave her a little botox where she's sagging. You don't want to change her...just restore her...a lttle! She's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Put an old fancy dress on her and you wouldn't even notice.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth
ReplyDeleteI would attach her head to her body and leave the rest of her alone. I went to The Depot on Saturday and saw your space. It looked beautiful as always. Wow that sure is a huge building. I called this morning to see about the possibility of renting a space and I was told they are full and have a waiting list of 80!! So I didn't bother to sign up. Since it's just new I figured it will take quite awhile before people decide to leave and they start drawing from the waiting list. Remember you suggested getting together for lunch? Any chance you might be free sometime this month?

She is beautiful the way she is...she has a story behind her...I would of brought her home too, you could read her the story of Cinderella and imagine her dancing away at the ball with her long lost prince.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a hat with the body below! Just tie something around the neck, give the hat a little somethin' and call it a day.
ReplyDeleteI think she'd like to have her neck reattached and maybe just a tiny tuck here and there so her stuffing isn't lost. But like all of us as we age, there is beauty in all that we have become - wear and tear and all.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh --- I LOVE HER!!!
