My Christmas booth at The Depot

Happy Sunday Evening Bloggies!

I spent the afternoon today getting my booth at The Depot ready for Christmas.

I had some awesome elf helpers with me~ Mr. OTM and his brother Ron couldn't think of anything better that they would want to do today(......watch football, get a root canal.....) so they jumped at the chance to help me hang snowflakes, move furniture, load furniture and so on!

In doing so, I thought you might all enjoy some pics of how it turned out.

There's a bunch of um! Enjoy!!

Well there ya have it! In case you are not familiar with The Depot , it is 88,000 square feet of pure drool worthy booths all set up inside an old Cannon Mills (think pillow cases ) building located in Concord North Carolina.
My booth is W12 in the first building. I was fortunate to be chosen as Vendor of the Month for November in our recent newsletter! A special honor considering the talent surrounding me there!
This week ahead will be a BUSY one for sure! Our annual
Christmas Tyme at the Marketplace kicks off Friday evening with our popular
CandleLight Night from 6-9. The festivities continue Saturday and Sunday from 10-6.
Look for a blog post coming SOON!
Hope your Holiday weekend was wonderful!!

Spur of the moment thought~ I am going to link this to Faded Charms White Wednesday!
You MUST go over there and see all the inspiration!!

AWESOME THRIFT STORE FIND!!

Look at my new find!
(insert Happy Dance!!)
The basket was the first thing that caught my eye....
Then I realized there was a bike attached to it!
A Chippy White Vintage Bike!
(insert freak out here!)
Isn't she the cutest thing?
The tires were flat~but Mr. OTM had the day off yesterday and surprised me with new inner tubes ( just love him ) and now she is good to go!
I took her for a spin this morning.
The air was crisp..
The birds were chirping...
My lungs were on fire....
My legs were throbbing...

But I know this is going to be the BEST 40.00 bucks I ever spent!
Even if it does wind up as a giant planter (that basket is huge!!)
Just kiddin....
maybe
*wink*

A "Golden" opportunity!

I was going to sit down with you all tonight and give you the Christmas Decorating Blitz update...HOWEVER I decided to go a totally different route and spare you all the details of the mini tantrum I had earlier this evening when I went to Lowes and they hadn't got in their pine roping yet. ( enter sad face and slight foot stomp)
Anyway....
our evening took a different turn in the form of dinner! We hadn't expected to go out to eat tonight ~ leftovers were patiently waiting in the fridge. I had seen something recently about the Golden Corral giving away a free meal to all military personnel past and present. For some reason I thought about it while I was picking out some kale in the nursery. I mentioned to Mr. OTM that I thought it was today so we decided to go over and check it out!
Now...first I must say...I LOVE the Corral. That is the FIRST place I ever ate in North Carolina ( Mr. OTM pulled out all the stops) and I was hooked. They have the BEST salad bar and bread pudding. Good lordy I could eat that whole pan.
So we pull into the parking lot tonight and WHOA NELLY were they PACKED! Retired military personal were directing traffic and helping people park. We thought about not going in but for some reason we stuck it out and I am so glad. I suppose it would help to know that before Mr. OTM was vying for Olde Tyme Marketplace Employee of the Month he proudly served his county in the US Army. When we entered the restaurant he was given a sticker that says"I Served "then we were met by yet another Veteran who helped us find a seat. We sat with two other people we didn't even know and we didn't even care.
I went and made my huge honkin salad ( spinach, mandarin oranges, walnuts, dried cranberries, grilled chicken, sunflower seeds and honey mustard dressing) and grabbed some crackers. As I was inhaling my dinner I looked around the room and you should have seen everybody. There were so many military people of all ages , men and women. They had a beautiful table set where nobody was to be seated to honor all POW's~ Kate Smith is belting out God BLess America and it was honestly kind of moving in an odd way. Everyone looked happy, nobody was impatient and it just felt special. I can't tell you how many times Mr. OTM was thanked for serving.
The Corral put on quite a show. I love um even more.

Blessed but Stressed

I have been been beyond busy this week getting the shop all Christmasized! It is ALOT of work and yep..guess what it can be stessful. I keep saying to myself..it'll all get done and believe or not is always does. I have had some wonderful helpers this week and hopefully I can whip the rest of it into shape the next couple days. All the garlands and trees and twinkle lights are creating magic. Each year I think...I should just start this earlier...maybe July?
Even though all this preperation work can be stressful at times, I know it is all worth it.
I came across this verse this morning that has started my day out with a happy heart:
He will cover you with his feathers
And under His wings you will find refuge
Psalm 91:4
Have a great day friends!

It's TYME!!

We got home last night about 10:00 from the Holiday Market show. What a great time it was! Met tons of new customers and sales were wonderful. We sold out of our windows and sleds and the booth was super easy to pack up~ only took us an hour which was a record!
Now don't worry~ I have got PLENTY for the shop! Speaking of the shop we will be in FULL ON CHRISTMAS DECORATING MODE THIS WEEK! The shop will be a complete wreak for a few days til we get it all together but boy when it's done it's like magic!
It's alot to do and I am heading over there shortly to get started! If you come by to shop this week there is a good chance you will be snagged into fluffing a garland or a tree!
I will be posting show pics this week sometime. Til then my journey into the pine filled trenches continues!

Awwww.....

I needed a break! I am literally up to my armpits in pine, berries, bows, antique ice skates, sleds and more! I am working like crazy out in the studio ( okay you know me to well....garage...:0)) and I came in to grab some lunch. I gave myself 30 min and since I have like 20 left I wanted to share it with you!
What do you think of this picture? I LOVE it and want snuggle right on in with them! It reminds me of one of my fav blogs that I peek at often http://www.farmgirlfare.com/. I first read about Susan in the March issue of Country Living back in 2009. She has a great blog and one of my fav posts she does is a daily Dose of Cute! Go check it out. She shares alot about 240 acre farmstead that she lives on and the recipes are awesome.
Okay...I gotta get back out to the studio...*wink*wink* and dive back into the pine filled trenches!
See Ya!
