SO LONG WHITES!

One of the only drawbacks about being in this business is that you have to sell stuff in order to stay in business!
Stuff that you would love too keep!
Problem is~ you can't keep it all.
These are a few of the things that have sold that I will miss! The rusty plate holder with all the ironstone platters.....sigh
This little cupboard was meant to keep but it was like just a centimeter too tall to fit under my kitchen cupboards.......sniff

This tool box......I can't even talk about it.

Yep , the birdcage. I believe I cried.

The chippy old fridge! Oh the agony! I LOVED this piece!
All of these went to wonderful homes I am sure!
Somtimes it's just so hard to let um go!
To see more wonderful white goodness, hop on over to Faded Charm!

I wanted that birdcage! But I knew it would sell quickly.

I have that problem too, and my house looks like a shop! Loved the post that Sue from VR did on your store, it's wonderful!

The old chippy fridge is pretty cool! That would have been a tough one for me to part with! I always look at this business of junk as "recycling"! Once something is gone, of course we replace it with five more things!!

Take care, Sue

That's where I saw that plant stand before, through Sue's post. Look on the bright side, now you have more money to buy and more room to fill, it's a win win. Pity us who do not have shops, who have spent all our money, don't have any more room, but can't stay away from the shops! Ya, it's a sickness, but what a way to go!

you had me scared for a sec, I thought you were jumping ship from whites into something new and trendy
whoosh! Glad to hear that is not the case.
Love it all no wonder you would want to keep it.

I can see why you CRIED.... win some, lose some, keep some, let go of some...someone once said we have to let go of what we really like to keep what we love...
Loved all the treasures...thanks for sharing.

Oh I know what you mean....
When you are a junker in your heart first and a junker in business second, your inclination is always going to be "mmmmm where can I put that at my house.

My rule is now that I can't bring anything home unless I take something out to sell at the shop.

I guess I'm just afraid I'll end up on tv as the featured hoarder of the week. lol

Beth, I know exactly what you are talking about. Sometimes I let something sit in my home for a week or two before taking it to my booth. I keep thinking I'll get over it, but I usually don't. I have even tried pricing something I love higher thinking no one would buy it and then I would have to keep it! That doesn't work either. It's just the nature of the business!

Today I bought a gorgeous metal french looking plant stand from another dealer! Oh my!

Your things are so beautiful and I understand.

Beth love I feel your PAIN really I do....If our home weren't so small I think I might easily become one of those poor hoarder folk that you see on the telly....!!

One thing I've learnt though is if you're lucky enough to nab something that you know ONLY comes along once (possibly twice) in a blue moon, buy it, keep it & get rid of something else that doesn't put a lump in your throat when you gaze upon it's crusty chippy perfection....!!

Cheers for now,
Tamarah :o)

I believe I would have cried over that amazing birdcage and the old fridge....look at that patina! I've sold things that I've regretted also, but how can you go buy more if you don't sell some things you already have?

Take care Beth.

Hey girl
I know what you mean.
I have a store too and hard to part with some things.
What I do is price the things very high so I can look at it for awhile.
Then, if someone wants it that bad, it's not so sad. =) Does ta sound horrible??

Thanks for coming by my place.

That's funny... I was just telling a good friend of mine that I need to quit buying things that I like to "sell" so that my house isn't so full and need to focus on things I won't want to keep!lol what fun would that be? It's really not possible but I do have a hard time letting go of stuff! Those were some wonderful finds of yours I'm sure they are very happy in their new homes! Thanks for stopping by, Theresa

Hi Beth, I know how you feel, I have to sell things I love too. Sometimes I do what I call upgrade, but I still let a lot of lovelies go. If I had a bigger house.... Just know I feel your pain. Thanks for stopping by and your lovely comment.

Hi Beth, I know you, like all of us in the area, are probably fighting the heat this Summer - junking is hard in 100 degrees right?

Anyway I see you are busy selling and perhaps come Fall I'll get back to Charlotte to the Depot and come see you. I've been traveling a lot since returning from Africa (fabulous safari!). Did get to my favorite shop in NH - then on to Montreal and Quebec City but no way to bring much back by plane! Off to northern Calif. soon but again won't be shopping, just lounging at the lake - how decadent!!

Hang in there and stay cool.
